In the extension of the previous posts - on the question of whether two (or more) separate phenomena coexist in Hessdalen - I would like to focus on what the Norwegian author Willy Ustad has written about "transitional phenomena". In the book 'UFO in Norway' (1997), Ustad divides the UFO-phenomenon into three parts: light phenomena, transitional phenomena and technical objects.
Light phenomena can further be divided into several types:
small moving bright spots in the sky, most often at night or in the dark, but also in daylight
large fireballs that often move at incredible speed, change course abruptly, etc.
minor light phenomena near the ground, either stationary or moving
On transitional phenomena, Ustad writes:
"There is no clear distinction between the latter group and the next group - technical objects. Very often the reports give a clear impression of a technical, or at least physical object inside, or surrounded by a strong light. Very often it is described that a physical object has one or more bright spots, or several bright lights that resemble headlamps."
About the last group, Ustad writes:
Descriptions of objects that are clearly physical are the simplest and most tangible form of reports. Here we also meet a huge variety of the strangest shapes and sizes.
--
Transitional phenomena are, in my opinion, an indication that light phenomena and objects are different sides of the same phenomenon and by going into the report material we can be find cases that underpins this view:
case 1
[...LARS LILLEVOLD and his family live in Hessdalen. - "On January 18, 1982, my life changed completely," he says. "What amazed me so much that I just have to admit that others can laugh at me and look at me like a curl. But I know what I've seen. "
This evening Lars had an errand outside his house. The time was approx. 19:30.
- Over the house I saw something big, glowing red. It must have been at least 30 ~ 4O meters long. It was like a pinch of bread, completely silent. I waited to hear sounds. I listened, but heard only the rush of the forest. Then "it" moved. The light was dazzling. It looked like "it" was emitting a red, fuzzy smoke that it somehow surrounded itself with. It removed in a northerly direction into the valley. I shouted at the wife who saw the lights before "it" disappeared...]
case 2
[..."There's a fire in the cabin!" Was his first thought. He got this idea when he saw a light
near a cabin. But, he immediately saw something else; a
large illuminated object comparable to a Christmas tree with the top facing
down towards the ground. The object stood about four feet above the ground, but it was
difficult to judge this despite - he had the cabin as a reference.
There was a big red light on the front of the object that flashed, and it was a
irregular wooly coating around the entire object. The light from it was so intense that it
was a pain to watch it for a long time...]
case 3
[...Slowly we saw the UFO rise a few meters above the mountain. Now it stood perfectly still. Around it we saw the snow boil as the wind swirled the snowflakes. In the same position, the UFO descended on the mountain. Was it down? The shape was most reminiscent of a pistol bullet. Did I see right? In the moonlight I thought it glistened in metal. Wasn't there a dark silhouette in the intense light?
Suddenly, the UFO turned to the side. It set in motion and "floated" in between Fjellbekkhøgda and Finnsåhøgda. It could not possibly be more than a few meters above the ground where it disappeared out of sight into the mountain...]

These reports - which are just three of many - are examples of a smooth transition between light phenomena and crafts and vehicle sightings. Maybe it doesn't make much sense to categorize and make sections?
Phd. in astrophysics, Italian Massimo Teodroani has, as previously mentioned, actively studied Hessdalen, including through three field actions in the 2000s. His conclusion is that the majority of the observed phenomena in Hessdalen have an OUTER plasma signature, but that one cannot "see" what is inside the light (in the same way that one cannot "see" into a star) when available photo equipment is only capable of photographing the outer photo sphere.
In addition, Teodorani states that a smaller - but significant - number of structured solid objects occur in Hessdalen.
As Teodorani says; Light and solid objects can either be the same phenomenon observed in different physical states, or two separate phenomena that coexist.
My examples from the report material on 'transitional phenomena' are, in my view, clear indicators of one and the same phenomenon.
The UFO activity in Hessdalen has a great range, and many have questioned whether there is one single phenomenon present - or if there are two (or more) phenomena that exist side by side.
Project manager Erling Strand has for example. said:
"It's so much different. We get conflicting measurement data. Some point in one direction, while other data point in the opposite direction."
Italian phd. in astrophysics, Teodorani, has said:
"The majority of observed phenomena in Hessdalen have external plasma-like features, while a small number of structured solid objects have been observed. It may be one phenomenon observed under different physical conditions or two separate phenomena coexisting."
Project Hessdalen divides the activity into three categories:
1: Flash. Pointed concentrated flashes of short duration, or powerful flashes that illuminates much of the sky and the surrounding terrain.
2: Yellow and white lights moving around the valley, that can stand still or move at high speeds.
3: Multiple lights together that follow each other as if they were attached to an object. Sometimes something dark / black can be seen between these lights.
From this, one can raise (at least) two hypotheses:
- Flashes and balls of light vs. structured solid objects are separate phenomena where the former must be understood as unknown natural phenomena related to geophysical conditions and combustion processes in the atmosphere - while the latter is a technology - man-made, or related to some form of visitation
Or:
- Flashes, balls of light AND structured solid objects are components of the same technology and constitute a unit.
---
My impression and my claim is that there is support for the view that ALL of the activity are components of the same phenomenon - if you look closely at the report material:
Hessdalen: Three illuminated UFOs:
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 1982, AT 6.20pm, one of the residents in Hessdalen saw an oblong luminous object as it flew low over the crest of Finnsåhøgda to the north. In binoculars he could clearly see that there was a red light in the front of the object.
As this object came in a northerly direction, another dull moon colored light appeared in the northeast. It moved on towards the other elongated object, and flashed several times during this journey.
At the same time, a third object, spherical, appeared about 70 degrees above the observer. This also pulsated before it finally went out.
Another person who came driving by car up Hessdalslia hillside saw three luminous objects at the same time as above. (Source: Havik, 87).
Comment: Related to Project Hessdalen's categorisation these are category 2 and 3 together; - balls of light and solid objects (crafts) interact.
Reitan 87; big flashes, balls of light and a craft:
16 October 1987; 7. 20 pm, three adults and a child were traveling by car between Tydal and Reitan
(some 10-15 km east of Hessdalen). On the road between the mountains they initially saw several star-like balls of light passing overhead at a great speed.
The sky was all clear and the wind intermittently gusted up to storm. A few minutes later about 7.20pm, they saw a bright flash of light which illuminated the sky towards Ålen (some 10 km to the NW). The light seemed brightly greenish, and they stopped the car and turned off the lights after another flash had appeared. Each flash lasted for about 3- 4 seconds, with a period of 1 minute between them.
Shortly after the last one, they caught sight of an object which came flying relatively low above the terrain. The object was shaped like a prism, equipped with four legs underneath.
All details were clearly visible; the object coming downwards in front of the car, flying slowly forward, making a brief halt and then disappearing right up into the sky. The observers stated that the object must have been large.
The observation lasted some 30 seconds. All four people felt a certain pressure in their heads both during the observation and shortly afterwards. (This symptom has also been felt by some
other witnesses who have observed UFOs in Hessdalen.) The observers were also a bit frightened and none of them had seen anything similar before. (Source: Nordic UFO Newsletter, 1, 1988).
(A drawing made by the witnesses. The surface looked like glass; shining with a greenish clour.)
Comment: Here all of the categories - 1, 2 and 3 appear together.
Arendal, Norway, 1981; i.e. not from Hessdalen - but very similar to HD sightings:
- Suddenly he became aware of a light in the eastern sky blinking and pulsating fast and irregurlarly. The light moved up and down with a blue blinking, sometimes weak and sometimes very. strong,
and after a little while it disappeared towards the east. Now and then the flashes were so powerful that the ground around the house was lit up as if someone was using a big flashgun out in the woods, far from roads and from any electric outdoor light. They also stated that it did not resemble the distinctive flashes of distant lightning as can be seen in the autumn.
The house is situated on a high spot surrounded by low hills and forests. In front of the house grassy fields run down towards Blagestad. To the northeast there are small islands and hills with low pinetrees. The family now turned off all the lights in the house and sat down behind the windows watching the sky. After an hour of patient waiting, the UFOs appeared again.
Suddenly a shivering yellow light appeared over the southern hills. The object rose and fell and the light shifted from yellow to blue. After a little while, it quickly soared to an altitude of 45 degrees and at the same time another object came in from the northeast and stopped at the same altitude.
Then a huge gray object came in from the south and passed within 50 meters of the house and glided silently towards the lake along the edge of the fields. Over the lake it descended slowly, so it was possible to observe it with the island and pinetrees as a background. The distance was then about 200-300 meters. At both ends they could see a very big red light, and on top of that they claimed there was something like a bridge.
The light from the two red spots was very unfamiliar, and they had difficulties in describing it. (In the southeastern part of the country this cigar-shaped phenomenon had been seen a few years
ago, and then too the witnesses noticed the very odd red lights and eported that there seemed to be something rotating inside them.)
It was a great shock to the family to see this strange, huge UFO with its dark and silent body and clear red lights; They thought for a while that it was an invasion, and turned on the radio for the kind of short message that one would expect to get under such circumstances.
Over the water the cigar changed course and headed slowly towards the northwest, and at the same time the two UFOs on each side of the house started to move; they flew side by side out over the
lake and disappeared behind the islands in the northeast. This led to conclude that the three objects were in contact with each other, moving in a united formation. (Source: Nordic UFO newsletter 2 - 82)
Comment: Again - all three categories are represented at the same time and interact.
---
These are just three selected examples taken from the report material. They are not unique, but on the contrary - rather typical of what has been seen.
These examples do not constitute irrefutable evidence of course, but are a strong indication that the three categories of activity outlined by Project Hessdalen; flash, balls of light and solid, structured objects - must be seen as sub-components within the same overall technology - as part of a unit.
An interview from 'Unexplained Mysteries' with Italian Massimo Teodorani, Dr. of Astrophysics - and Head of the EMBLA research team / field actions in Hessdalen in the 2000s:
Teodorani's statements diverge a bit across different interviews and different scientific papers, - but essentially it seems that he thinks that UFOs in Hessdalen (and elsewhere in the world) consist of some type of "plasma phenomenon" on the one hand, and some type of structured solid objects on the other side. These can be either (A) two distinct separate phenomena that co-exist, or (B) the same phenomenon observed under different physical states, according to Teodorani.
(Dr. Massimo Teodorani)
Another exciting approach from Teodorani is that a hypothetical alien intelligence - potentially millions of years ahead of us in technological development - may be able to "program" a plasma ball to act as an information-gathering "computer":
- An exogenous probe might not be necessarily something “mechanical” as we expect from our technology, but something much more exotic. Therefore, even if we are not in a condition to extrapolate the future point of a super-civilization starting from ours, we can maybe speculate on what we could see. For instance, we cannot exclude the possibility that such a master civilization is able to instruct a “plasma ball” to acquire the functions of an “intelligent probe” based on a particle neural network that is planned to work both as a multi-sensing device and as a computer. After all, our own technology, which substantially was born only two centuries ago, is starting already now to plan a new generation of computers based both on the DNA and on quantum mechanics and it is already starting to use the very sophisticated science of nanotechnology.” (An alternative method for the scientific search for extraterrestrial intelligent life: the local SETI)
I am uncertain of what Teodorani means with "particle-neural network" and" multi-sensing device" - but I assume that it’s about networks capable of sending and receiving information, as well as processing data, something similar to what neurons do in the brain.
In other words; - with Teodorani's approach, there are no contradiction between plasma theories and theories of intelligent control...
The UFO flap in Hessdalen is the world's largest. No other place in the world have so many UFOs been seen over such a long period of time. And these UFO sightings are still going on!
This book covers the history of Hessdalen since the 80s, the scientific research that has been done - and is being done, in addition to interviews with Hessdalen residents etc. Last, but not least; - the author's personal experience after spending the last year at a cabin in Hessdalen:
"Hessdalen represents the UFO phenomenon “in miniature”; - implicit that almost everything that is reported internationally in the UFO context is also reported in Hessdalen one or more times. The UFO phenomenon in Hessdalen and the UFO phenomenon globally must therefore be regarded as the same phenomenon (not separate categories). And a solution to the UFO mystery in Hessdalen will thus represent a solution to the UFO phenomenon as a whole."
"I'm impressed by Hessdalen itself, because Hessdalen is really a UFO laboratory. It's a place where things are happening and where things can be studied. Hessdalen has had the best equipment and the best periode of operation and observation of the UFO-phenomenon any place in the world."
- Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Scientific advisor to UFO studies undertaken by the U.S. Air Force, Project Blue Book).
A small clip with an interview of some cottage residents visiting Hessdalen. Interesting story, which includes an observation of a saucer shaped craft. Somewhat unusual in Hessdalen, - most often it is elongated, cigar-shaped - or egg-shaped / spherical crafts which are sighted. The clip is also interesting because the reporter's sarcastic attitude is representative of the public attitude of UFOs and Hessdalen as it was a few years back. Fortunately, things are better now.
Here is a Norwegian documentary about Hessdalen made by some students at Østfold College. The film includes interesting comments from Hessdalen residents. I added English subtitles. Part two will come when I get time.
In previous articles I have described
how the UFO phenomenon in Hessdalen can be divided into different
categories, some of which undoubtedly are solid, metallic objects,
while others appear as lights in the sky.
And as mentioned in previous articles,
-we do not know if "lights in the sky" and solid, metallic
objects are two very different phenomena, or whether in fact the same
phenomenon is observed under different physical stages. One can for
example speculate that these objects are surrounded by ionized gas
(plasma) as part of the propulsion (?) and what appears to be lights
in the sky, in reality are solid, metallic objects surrounded by
ionized air (plasma)?
In some cases, it seems to be a gradual
transition from solid objects, to "plasma lights."
From witness statements in Hessdalen:
("... It was surrounded with red
smoke", "... the metal had its own" glow "",
"... a slightly reddish, glow above", "... you could
sort of make out a dark mass in the middle ", etc.)
Other cases indicate that these are two
different things: If the "plasma lights" is a kind of
unknown natural phenomenon (related to the geophysical conditions in
Hessdalen?) it is tempting to speculate whether Hessdalen is selected
as the venue for testing of exotic technology ("anti-gravity"
aircrafts, etc. .) precisely because of the presence of unknown
natural phenomena which can serve as an alibi, cover and camouflage.
Or is the "plasma lights" artificial manufactured
technology being tested - eg. electromagnetic weapons?
In that case, one can speculate that
the solid objects with silvery, metallic hulls, etc., are supervising
the technology and manages / controls it?
The latter hypothesis, I have not
elaborated further in the past, and can probably seem far fetched to
many readers. But through Hessdalen - and through research done by
Project Hessdalen we know that the UFO phenomenon is real (not
the result of fraud, hallucinations, misinterpretations, etc.), and
we also know that the crafts in Hessdalen maneuver in a way that
suggests a kind of field propulsion , - in other words a form of
manipulation of electromagnetism.
If the technology for electromagnetic
propulsion exist (which many observations made in Hessdalen
indicates), and it is "our" government behind it (or the
power behind the power), it is very natural to assume that the same
technology can be used as weapons.
-Take a look at this nice little threat
from the Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky:
(2, 15 out of the clip)
[...Vladimir Zhirinovsky is
Vice-Chairman of the Russian State Duma and leader of the Liberal
Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), the first officially sanctioned
opposition party after the fall of communism. The LDPR has deep links
with the former KGB and Communist Party and has become a significant
force in Russian politics, despite Zhirinovsky himself being branded
as a militant neo-fascist....]
From the clip:
"...New weapons, that noone knows about them yet. With
them WE WILL DESTROY any part of the planet within 15 minutes. Not an
explosion, not a ray burst, not some kind of a laser, not alightning,
no, but a quiet and peaceful weapon.Whole continents will be put to
sleep forever. And thats all!
RegardingZhirinovskys
connection with the former KGB and the Communist Party, there is
reason to take the statements seriously.
---
...But what exactly are we
looking at here?
- An alcoholic political
clown serving statements about "new weapons" from thin
air, or a well experienced politician - knowing Russian military
power – who has a slip of the tounge?
Or does Joseph P. Farrel have
a point with his hypothesis about that this is a "message being sent"
from Russia?
(Joseph P. Farrels comment)
What Zhirinovskys actually says can be
interpreted as that Russia caused
Japan-tsunami, and / or that Russia will not hesitate to use the same
weapons at the next opportunity!
Zhirinovsky is a Russian
politician, but the technology (if real?) is probably widespread and many
nations (or the elites who controls them) are probably in possession
of this or similar technology.
A possible third world war is
unlikely to be fought with bullets and gunpowder.
Today's post is from my
point of view, as the author of this blog, a boring post to write,
but hopefully of interest to my readers. I also believe that it is a
very necessary
post. The content is taken from Arne Wisths book from 1983; “The
UFO mystery in Hessdalen” - entirely from chapter nine of the book,
which covers UFO sightings in the Hessdalen area in 1982 - mostly
daylight sightings.
1981 - 1984 was the most intense period in
Hessdalen where it was made several observations per day - up to
thirty a week. From 1985 to the present day it is made (or notified)
a thirty observations on an annual basis.
Some readers probably
wrinkles on the nose of sightings made back in the eighties, and
believes this is old news. I believe, however, it is important to
know about these early sightings and have them as a backdrop when
you read about, and consider recent observations of the type “lights
in the sky”. Internationally Hessdalen is known under the name
"Hessdalen lights." I want to differentiate and create a
more complete picture of what has been observed, and still is being
observed in Hessdalen.

Lars Lillevold and his
family live in Hessdalen. - 18 January 1982 changed my life
completely, he says. - What I saw amazed me so that I have to admit
that others may laugh at me and see me as a lunetic. But I know what
I saw.
Illustration; Rune Øverby. "The light was blinding. It looked as if "it" had a red, hairy like smoke that it surrounded itself with."
This evening Lars had an errand outside his
house. The time was approx. 19.30. - Over the outhouse I saw
something big, bright red. It must have been at least 30-40 meters
long. As a loaf of bread it stood there, completely still. I expected
to hear sounds. I listened, but heard only the murmur of the forest.
Then "it" moved. The light was blinding. It looked as if
"it" had a red, hairy like smoke that it surrounded itself
with. It moved in a northerly direction up the valley. He shouted at
his wife who saw the lights before "it" disappeared. -
Since it was a craze for me, I had to see this again. And I have done
many times later. Time and again I asked myself what this might be.
I'm surprised that the authorities do not take this more seriously.
I'm glad that others see, and want as many people as possible to
do.
A man who has seen UFOs both day and night, is Jon Aspås.
In late February, he called his neighbor, Martin Aspås, who lives a
short distance further up the valley. The time was quarter past nine
in the morning. Martin sat and ate breakfast and looked out the
kitchen window when he saw an object in the air just to the south, in
the direction of the houses to Jon Aspås.
Do you see anything
over mount Rogne? Is it the same object that we have seen in the
evening?
Jon ran outside the house. There it was, shiny and
metallic. It was oblong and somewhat flattened below. It looked like
it had a raised platform at the top, says Jon. It went south at an
altitude that could not be more than a few hundred meters.
The
following morning he saw the UFO again. Then it was also observed by
others near Røros. At this second daylight observation, they could
study the object for 42 minutes, as long as it stood quietly in the
valley between Ålen and Hessdalen. Then it went straight east before
it sat up a tremendous speed and disappeared out of sight.
Jon
saw the UFO once again in March. It was passing the valley in
daylight, but very fast. Once it went four times between the valley
and mount Finnsåhøgda, back and forth.
Berit Mary
Kjerrengvold lives in Hessdalen. Tuesday before Easter she was on her
way from Ålen towards Røros in her car. With her she had an
acquaintance, Anita Trygstad from Røros. Approx. at. 13.00 they were
a mile south of Ålen, on a slight incline. On the right side, they
discovered something dark that was not moving over the treetops. The
object appeared elongated and were sort of standing at an angle. It
was metallic silver and quite large. The sun was up, and should
reflect the object's metallic color. It did not, it looked more as if
the metal had its own "glow". They did not stop the car and
saw the object for approx. 20 to 25 seconds. In October, she and her
husband saw a large object with two bright lights in front and a red
at the rear.
"In October, she and her husband saw a large object with two bright lights in front and a red at the rear."
Ingulf Rotan from Ålen have a cabin by Øyungen.
16.03. 1982 approx. at. 19.30 he saw a bright, shiny object coming
through a hole in the clouds. It looked like it came straight from
above, but below the clouds it flattened out after having made a
"spiral movement". It continued to maneuver with strange
turns until it disappeared behind Skarvan.
32 year old Aud
Rønning was 23.03. 1982 approx. at. 22.40 on her way home to
Haltdalen after a trip to Oppdal. Next to the bridge by Gilset she
saw something she thought was the moon. Then she discovered that "the
moon" was elliptical, with a slightly reddish, glow above. It
came from her right over the roadway in front of her. She turned
around. The color was sharp, orange-yellow. Right towards the car the
object came, and Mrs. Rønning was startled for a moment:
Would it drive her
down?
She estimated the
Ufos altitude to be only three or four feet above the ground. She
believed that it may not have been farther than 10-15 feet away when
it suddenly went straight into the air and disappeared. At the same
time, the car engine died out. It lasted just a few seconds, she
says, but the experience is impressed in her mind.
Per Moen
saw "something" in March 1982, at Øyungen. - It was in the
evening, and I saw something I thought was a star among the trees.
It was quiet and it sort of pulsated. Then came a powerful flash that
lit up the whole area, and then it was gone. The object just
disappeared in front of me.
- Another evening, I was at a
similar place to see three of them at once. They came sliding
inwards, two above and one below. Suddenly we saw a fourth object.
Personally, I believe that it came right up from the ground. They
formed a long N-formation. For several minutes I could study them.
Suddenly there was the same as in the first case: they just
disappeared right before my eyes.
During the autumn of 1982, I
have seen similar things several times. One day I drove with my
in-laws north in Hessdalen. They had never seen something, and wanted
to have a look after all the talk about UFOs. Then came a bright
"thing" towards us and turned up the river valley. The
observation lasted for 2-3 minutes. Later, at 23 o'clock, we again
saw it from the "plateau". It came through the clouds,
down sharply at high speed and disappeared behind Finnsåhøgda.
Even
in the bright nights of the summer 1982, there were reports of UFO
sightings. A family from Bærum who were on holiday, have been
unwilling to come forward and tell what they saw in June, when they
were on vacation in Øyungen. But they have revealed to a person that
they saw an enormous flying "thing" that "let out"
three small "things" that flew with tremendous speed. The
family ended their vacation and went home.
8. March 1982
Torbjorn Drag Myrhaug was driving a car into Hessdalen with his wife
Mary and daughter Hallgerd.
The time was 22.50, and suddenly
the family in the car saw an orange colored light to the left of
them. They went out of the car and stood and stared in disbelief at
what played out before them. - The moon reflected in the object, and
we could through the light clearly see that it had a metllic color.
The size was about like a car, and it was pointed in front and
somewhat blunt at the rear. As a ghost plane the object passed
without a sound. In the autumn the whole family was to study a
similar phenomenon from their living room window, and later they have
seen it several times. In August, the daughter Hallgerd with his
grandmother, Ella Hegseth and her friend, Eli Benoa were in a cabin
near Øyungen. Then they saw something that flashed in red, just west
of them. This "red" thing was slowly moving, and they could
observe it for several minutes.
The most remarkable happened
in daylight around 16.30 on 23 October. Tom and Hallgerd was driving
from Hessdalen towards Ålen. The road is very curvy there, and
Torbjorn had to concentrate on driving.
- It was big as an
airplane and silver metallic. No windows I could see where "it"
glided over us, maybe a hundred meters away. It was rather pointed in
front, and right behind I think it sort of was a bump. How long I
saw it, I'm not sure. Maybe a minute. When we finally stopped, it was
gone over the mountain.
Jon Arvid Aspås always spend the
summer on a farm at Hessjøen with his family. It is located on a
hill with good view of the valley. The family consists of his wife
Solfrid, Ole Martin 14 years, Ann Kristin 13, Joar 11 and Sture
10.
Jon Arvid have seen UFOs many times, but only as a light,
except for one occasion when he also claimed to have seen metal and
windows.
The sun was still up at 19.25 o'clock 3 september
1982. The sky was clear, and Jon Arvid and the kids were outside.
Then Solfrid saw something in the sky that came from the south, and
she shouted at the others. - The object was like a fuselage without
wings: Silver - metallic bright in color. (This is confirmed by the
rest of the family). It was probably about. 2 km. Away. - It turned
eastward, and came a bit east of us. It was so close that we could
observe it from underneath. We saw absolutely no wings. It reminded
us of the old airships that we've seen pictures of. No sound was to
hear.
Reconstruction; "The object was like a fuselage without wings: Silver - metallic bright in color."
Jon Arvid ran to fetch his binoculars. As he came back,
the “thing”disappeared into a cloud. - It was not big, says
Solfrid. We wondered that we could not see it coming out of there.
But it was gone.
23. October 1982, ie the same day as Hallgerd
Drag Myrhaug saw "something" from her father's car in broad
daylight, was Edvin Kværnes outside his house in Ålen. It was 16.40
when he over Ålen saw something he thought was an airplane. It went
very slowly on the north course. He studied it carefully. It seemed
much larger than a regular plane, he thought. It was difficult to
judge the height of the craft, but Kværnes son is a pilot, and he
thought it had the same height as his son used to hold over the area.
Maybe around 5000 feet.
Kværnes tried to hear engine sounds from the
plane. He listened. Nothing was to hear. And it went all too slowly.
The plane turned east. But it had no wings! Startled Kværnes studied
the flying object closer. It glistened in a silvery hull, but how
closely he looked, he could not see the wings. As an old-fashioned
airship it slid off. In three - four minutes he observed the object
before it disappeared.
Kværnes was one of those who in
January had seen the UFOs in Hessdalen, the first time north of the
house of Martin Aspås. At that time, they saw it came gliding
silently with two reddish light behind and "some strange light"
in front. They saw the lights in front of the mountain, so it could
not be an airplane. Almost every day after this was Kværnes up on
the "plateau" and from there he made many observations of
unexplained lights.
One autumn day he was at Øyungen along
with seven other people. Then came the UFO he had seen the first time
back - the one with two lights behind. And this time they saw clearly
that it had a light in front. - One of the lights, I think was blue,
says Kværnes. - You could sort of make out a dark mass in the
middle. The UFO moved slowly and disappeared in the north. This
happened at 19.30 o'clock at night, and the weather was fine and
clear. Later, Kværnes saw a UFO once from his car in November.
Ole
O. Baka is from Ålen. Sunday 24 October, he and his son Oddleif were
on a trip in Båttjønndalen along with a colleague, Per Sten Lien.
It was sunny and calm weather. The time could be around 15.45.
Suddenly, they noticed something they thought was a plane on a
northerly course. They saw it glide slowly toward mount
Fjellbekkhøgda, and it shone in the metal as the aircraft turned and
went south in Hessdalen. They saw that it had no wings, and that it
was moving very slowly. The object was shining - and large. The did
not hear any sound.
They agreed that it could not be a plane.
It was more like a helicopter, for it had sort of a thickening in the
middle. But a helicopter is not silent.
Ole Bendheim and his
son Peter was on his way through the valley to Ålen by car on 24.10.
1982. The time was 15.40. They drove around a curve, so Bendheim had
a good grip on the steering wheel. Suddenly he gripped even harder.
What on earth was this? For a moment he thought that what he saw was
a reflection in the window. But no, he saw it through the windshield
and side window. It was a huge object in the sky and it looked like
an aluminum pan in color. It took some time before Peter saw the same
as his father.
Illustration; Rune Øverby. "It must have been twice as big as a truck with a trailer. His son Peter thought it was even bigger. Any plane, it could certainly not be, said Bendheim."
The object was sliding down the mountain and
disappeared for a moment at the forest edge. There it was sort of
hanging over a plantation. It looked as if its length covered the
entire planting area. Bendheim had slowed down, and the car went
forward at snail's pace. Was there no one else nearby who saw this? A
few hours before, there was a swarm of people in the mountains and
valley. Most were hunters, as it was hunting season. Now he saw
none.
- It reminded me of a movie, this that played out over
the treetops in front of us. It seemed so supernatural. Could it be a
mirage? As we could see, was "the thing" only three or four
hundred yards beyond us. It should have been twice as big as a truck
with a trailer. His son Peter thought it was even bigger. Any plane,
it could certainly not be, said Bendheim. The object glided slowly
along. Oblong, silvery, and the front ... there was something that
moved, there?
In front of the object, it looked like it was a
"dent" in the hull. Was it an opening there? Did they see
cross through the object at this point? Was it the woods in the
background they saw? Or was there something inside the vehicle that
moved?
Bendheim've thought and thought about this. - The sight
was so fantastic, so we forgot to study the details, he said. - At
least there were no visible marks on the hull, it was completely
blank. It was just this weird front. No light. No sound to
hear.
Bendheim also believe that it was something that
resembled rods moving in front of the vehicle. They were suddenly
gone. - If we had a camera with us, we would have plenty of time to
shoot. We saw this in seven to eight minutes. Afterwards, I thought
that the word camera was not in our thoughts. Maybe we would not have
taken a picture even if we had been able to. The visual impression
overwhelmed us. We forgot everything.
"Oblong, silvery..."
The object disappeared
behind a hill, and we saw it again. - Had not Peter been with me, I
would not have mentioned this to anyone, said Bendheim. - What should
one really believe? I have no idea what it might have been. Mirage or
... well, I do not know what. The military has been here and asked me
out. I could only say that this was what we saw.

This collection of daylight
sightings reports represent only a small excerpt of what was observed in
Hessdalen during the great flap in the 80s. The total number of
observations are enough to fill books - and of a nature (close
range, with the terrain in the background, etc.) that natural
explanations, - like planes etc. can be excluded.
Still it is
done daylight sightings of solid, metallic objects in Hessdalen and
the surrounding area. As previously mentioned in this blog, the
researchers estimate the percentage of solid objects to be somewhere
between 5% (Teodorani) and 15% (Strand). The remaining percentage of
observations are “lights in the sky”.
We do not know if
“lights” and solid objects are two very different phenomena, or
whether in fact the same phenomenon is observed under different
physical stages. One can for example speculate that these objects are
surrounded by ionized gas (plasma) as part of the propulsion (?) and
that what appears to be lights in the sky, in reality are solid,
metallic objects surrounded by ionized air (plasma)?
In some
cases, it seems to be a gradual transition from solid objects, to
"plasma lights". (“...it was surrounded with red
smoke”, “...the metal had its own "glow"”, “... a
slightly reddish, glow above”, “... you could sort of make out a
dark mass in the middle” etc.
Other cases indicate that
these are two different things:
If the "plasma lights"
is a kind of unknown natural phenomenon (related to the geophysical
conditions in Hessdalen?) it is tempting to speculate whether
Hessdalen is selected as the venue for the testing of exotic
technology (“anti-gravity” aircrafts, etc.) precisely because of
the presence of unknown natural phenomena which can serve as an
alibi, cover and camouflage.
Or is the "plasma lights"
artificial manufactured technology being tested - eg. electromagnetic
weapons? In that case, one can speculate that the solid objects with
silvery, metallic hulls, etc., are supervising the technology and
manages / controls it?
Here is ashortfollow upon the previouspostregardingmilitary presencein Hessdalen:
Date: 14.06.2002 Time: 04:00 P.M. Place: Hessdalen Observer: Rutt-Marry Moe
Rutt-Marry was driving home from the store in Hessdalen, which is located close by the church. When she was at Trøan, just north of the community centre, a little bit south of Heggset, did she see a black or blackgrey flying "thing" down at the river. It had wings, but no windows. It was flying towards south, very close to the river. She was looking down at it. She believde it was a plane, but wondered how a plane could fly so close to the ground.
Comment: Could this be a drone from the military? At 4.40 P.M. did I (Erling Strand) see a big plane from the military, fly very low in Hessdalen. Bjørn-Gitle Hauge and some friends was at mount Finnsåhøgda south, and saw the plane in the same elevation as they. This is very low for such a big plane. Ref. Rutt-Marry Moe.
Whyaremilitarydronesin Hessdalen, what mission do they have?
A militarydronedown in theriver valley?!?
Sounds strange...
By the way,is itunlikely that thiswas a Norwegiandronein 2002. According toNorwegianWikipedia, it was a goalto introduceNorwegiandronesby 2008; http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drone
What
most people may not know, is that it existed / exists a Nato base
south of Hessdalen at Hummelfjell (1543 m.) (Locally, "Håmmålfjell")
at Os. This was part of NATO's control and warning system created
during the Cold War and was manned until 1986. At the most, the base had
nearly 100 employees.
There is little
information to be found around this, but here you can read a little
(in norwegian).
In addition, it existed /
exists a similar, but smaller, NATO base north of Hessdalen – at
mount Bringen (1042 m.) in Haltdalen.
Here are some pictures of
the plant;
This page provides
information about how it was built huge underground plants in
relation to the NATO bases:
Between Hummelfjell and
Bringen, it is seven miles. Hessdalen is positioned exactly in the
middle between these two stations. From the middle of Hessdalen it is
3,5 miles to Bringen in the north, and 3,5 miles to Hummelfjell in
the south.
From google
earth:
(The
red line shows the direct linear distance from Hummelfjell to
Bringen).
Haviks book (The UFO phenomenon, 1987) describes several times an elongated object with two yellow lights behind, and a little red light in front. Something like this:
This object passed
usually from south to north, through the valley, in front of mount
Finnsåhøgda (seen from Aspåskjølen). It is described that it was
moving with a rolling "wave motion", and in one case there
was described a buzzing / hissing sound from the object, - the
equivalent of high voltage cables in wet weather. The object passed
often at fixed times: one was talking about the "half past seven
flight" and "half past ten flight."
Direction and
altitude (according to the detailed descriptions in Haviks book)
match remarkably well with the calculated linear distance between the
two NATO bases – Bringen and Hummelfjell.
Was this testing of exotic
propulsion? Was it a training "camp" of pilots and personnel to control
these vessels? Or maybe it was patrolling / supervision with the
other "exotic technology" that were/are placed in
Hessdalen?
The other "exotic technology" - in the form
of balls of light, etc. I think probably involves testing /
development / training acc. electronic warfare, and electromagnetic
weapons.
Can Hessdalen be the site of secret experimentation
with "exotic technology" under the control of
NATO?
Observation reports from Hessdalen in many cases
indicate that we are dealing with an exotic form of propulsion. Among
other, it is described non-aerodynamic maneuvers, such as "angle
turns," "stair-like movements" etc. This indicates a
type field propulsion / "anti-gravity."
We are not talking about any
kind of "advanced planes," if someone would think that was
the case.
In a series of posts on
this blog, I have tried to show how there are indications that the
UFO phenomenon can be traced back to Germany and the second world
war. Probably the technology was imported into the United States with
German engineers and scientists through "operation paperclip"
and then disappeard into various black projects.
I have also attempted to
argue that a form of "nuclear propulsion" may be the
"missing link" between conventional propulsion and more
spectacular, electromagnetic, "anti-gravity" propulsion
systems.
It
is not inconceivable that the United States - through NATO – (with
help (?) of Norway) – would want to test this type of technology
on Norwegian soil. Remote mountain areas like Hessdalen would be perfect for this
purpose.
One of the most extraordinary
UFO-sightings in Hessdalen ever, was done by Leif Havik, - who is
the author of the book I several times have referred to as well; “The
UFO phenomenon”, (1987). Havik was also coordinator of the
first two field investigations carried out by Project Hessdalen in
1984 and 1985. Considering Haviks position (leadership within Project
Hessdalen / author of one out of two books about Hessdalen), it is,
in my opinion, an extra reason to attribute this very special
sighting weight:
--- “Friday 23.August, Leif Havik took a
trip to Hessdalen. It was early afternoon when he turned into the
road that leads to Øyungen, by Vårhus. Leif parked his car below
Fjellbekkhøgda. Leif had packed a backpack for the trip, and went up
along the mountain side. On the way up, he met a sport fisherman who
was on his way down the mountain. After a brief pause at the top,
Leif continued further towards Måstjønnskarven. He stopped at a
huge rock on the plateau. Leif sat down on the moss, and used the
huge stones as his backrest. He looked at the fantastic play of
colors in the reflections from the countless small lakes across the
tide. There were some little clouds that drifted by. It was strangely
quiet, not a sound or a small puff where he sat.
Above you can see the drawing that Leif Havik made.
While
Leif sat there, he suddenly got a feeling of being watched., and he
turned around to see if there was anything nearby. There was nothing
to see, so he threw it away by thinking that it probably was just his
imagination.
Just then, he saw a shiny
silver object that slowly slipped out of an invisible portal in the
sky. The distance was hard to calculate, but it was "close"
enough so that he could see the details of the hull. It looked like a
fuselage without wings, and it was clearly composed of plates.
Although it shined in silver, there were parts that were like
darkened glass, especially in the front. The entire hull gradually
came into view, and it stopped.
View from Fjellbekkhøgda.
Throughout this phase,
Leif felt a tingling sensation in his arms and legs, and he was
"heavy" in his head. It was an uncomfortable feeling, as if
"something" deprived of his will. His brain told him to
flee from there, but something "locked" him to the moss
where he sat. Leif felt an intense, high-pitched, whistling noise
inside his head, and it was an uncomfortable pressure in the
forehead.
Leif explains further: "A
weak. Reflective. flickering light moved along the side of the hull.
There was something undefinable woolly about the light, - or rather
like illuminated smoke. It suddenly felt as if his head would burst,
and it was an indescribable pain. Then he did not really know what
happened. The next thing he remembered was that he sat and looked
beyond the rocky landscape, and he was surprised that it had been
dark so fast. Now, there was no pain in his head, and the wingless
fuselage was gone. He had to sort out his mind, and leaned firmly
against a rock and rolled a cigarette. Then, it was as if a tape
recorder started to run, and an authoritative and clear voice began
to speak and rattled off one lesson after another. After a while, the
"tape recorder" stopped. He suddenly felt that he wanted to
go back home. The speed was high on the way back to the car.
"
Map which shows Haviks position.
My comment:
I particularly note Haviks description of
the hull, "as a fuselage, without wings” and the sentence; “it
was clearly composed of plates." The description "fuselage
without wings" is often used in conjunction with Hessdalen. This
indicates (of course) that the vessel does not carry wings, and what
keeps the vessel in the air, most probably is a form of field propulsion /
“anti-gravity”. However, it is my opinion that the fuselage shape
indicates a human origin, and not something extraterrestrial/alien.
If the craft was alien, I would have expected something far more
exotic than "a fuselage without wings." In my view,
"fuselage without wings-shape" indicates that the (human)
builders of the vessel have based the craft on a plane (or a U-boat?)
and simply dropped the wings - because they are unnecessary (due to exotic propulsion).
My
next point is the words "clearly composed of plates".
Again, I think this indicates a man-made vessel, and not something
alien. Most of our vessels are composed of plates, but is it likely
that extraterrestrials/aliens - far ahead in development - would
stagnate at the same developmental stage regarding development of
hulls? Isn't it more likely that they would have developed hulls
molded in a single piece of metal? A vessel "clearly composed of
plates" would not be very suitable for interstelleare traveling
in (or close to) the speed of light. (It would of course be torn apart.)
Some would argue that the
crafts that visits earth (seen in Hessdalen), were brought here via
a "mother ship, - but if the "mother ship" is
built on the basis of requirements for interstellar travel, why does
not the hulls of the “probes” possess the same qualities?
When
it comes to Haviks psychological reactions (voices inside his head,
etc.), many will likely connect this to extraterrestrials.
In my opinion, these
reactions may rather be due to either (natural) electromagnetic activity -
that we know occurs in the Hessdalen area (due to geo-physiological
conditions?) - or a form of artificial electromagnetic interference.
The first implies that it all takes place in Havik's head because of
natural conditions that excists in the valley. The second option,
however, indicates artificial influence - and thus a form of mind
control - and that Hessdalen may be the site of greater things -
testing of new technology (secret NATO-projects?) etc.
The
last option will be explained in upcoming articles.
Happy announcement number 1: The live-camera in the Hessdalen automatic station is up and running again. Here you can
follow what happens in the "valley of UFOs" from second to
second. The live-camera has been down since December, but is finally
back.
Nice view: Hessdalen live-camera.
The camera is very light sensitive, and
mounted in the direction of west. In the hours before sunset,
, the screen goes black, and it is impossible to see
anything. In winter, it is dark at night in Norway, and one
is therefore dependent on the moon for it to be bright enough
to make observations.
However, it is
possible to observe the phenomena live here. I have been
lucky enough to see the phenomena repeatedly using this
camera.
For example, do like me, have a small window
open while you work on something else on your computer, - or
download a screen recording program that can record while you
do something else, not at home, etc.
Hessdalen automatic station.
Happy
announcement number 2: The Project Hessdalen page where
observation reports are published, is updated. So far there are four
phenomena reported in 2012:
---
Date: 01.03.2012 Time: 08:30
P.M Place: Lake Hersjøen, Hessdalen Ole Jacob was
driving a snowmobile on lake Hersjøen, together with his
son Jacob (11 years) and his niece Kristin (13 years). They
saw a green light coming from the east, moving down with an
angle, in front of, and just south of mount Brattbekken, i n
the west. It disappeared when it was in the hillside. It
disappeared when it was below the horizon. The weather was
calm, a few clouds and the themperature was - 2°C.
Date: 25.02.2012 Time: at
about 07:20 P.M Place: Fjellheim parking, Hessdalen The
observers were at the parking place, when they saw a light
in direction northeast. The light wasseen two times during
a 5 minutes periode, and it lasted about 10 seconds each
time. During the first observation, the light split in two.
Date: 19.02.2012 Time: between
01:00 and 02:00 A.M Place: Fjellheim parking, Hessdalen The
observers were at the parking place, in the middle of the
night, due to recording of a film. They saw a light
phenomenon in direction west/northwest, just above mount
Skarvan. They saw the light three times, each with a
duration of about 5 to 10 seconds. It was above the
horizon.
Date: 18.02.2012 Time:11:40
P.M Place: Grøtådalen, Hessdalen Anngerd was sitting on
a sledge behind a snowmobile, when they were driving back
home from Grøtådalen. She saw a light in direction
north/northwest. Estimated distance was to the light was
beneath 1000m, and it was underneath the horizon. The light
looked like sparks/ lines of light / rocket, which was
standing still, just above the ground. She saw the light
just some seconds, because the snowmobile was driving into
the farm, and something did block the line of sight. She
moved to a place on her farm, where she could see it, but
then it was gone.

Forty minutes long
recording of UFOs taken in Drivdalen, Norway, a few miles south-west
of Hessdalen.
The recording was made 18 January 2001.
To
begin with, it is one light. Eventually, two lights - and at the end,
we see three lights in a triangle formation.
The most
remarkable aspect of the recording, however, is when the light dims,
and we apparently can see what is under the luminous surface. In
the beginning we see a bright, color-changing ball:
Later,
the "ball" seems to "open" up.
Eventually,
the light turns off, and we are able to see that it is a solidobject
behind the luminous surface.
"A fundamental result which was ascertained directly on the field during two intensive scientific missions, is just that the Hessdalen phenomenology is characterized by two well- distinguished aspects:
1: luminous orbs for which an external plasma appearance has been ascertained, but with highly anomalous characteristics both thermodynamically and morphologically,
2: a slender but significant minority of objects which possess sharp characteristics of solidity.
This double way in which the learnt phenomenology appears can be interpreted only in two alternative ways:
·like
an overlap of two phenomena with sharply different characteristics,
or
·like
two sharply different behaviours of the same phenomenon.
Anyway it must be reminded that, by assuming that the second option is taken into account, well-known laws of radiation physics say very clearly that the instrumental verification of the plasma nature of a given phenomenon, is not sufficient to demonstrate that the phenomenon is a plasma entirely, but only that his external surface (or: photosphere) behaves like a plasma which, by its nature, is able to hide all what exists inside it."
--
We can’t see
what’s inside a plasma, in the same way as we can’t see what’s inside the sun…
Does
this footage represent what's inside a Hessdalen "plasma"
ball?
I have been in contact with the head of Project
Hessdalen, Erling Strand, at the Østfold university college regarding the
recording, and asked for his opinion. He pointed out that we do not
know in which hdirection of the sky this was filmed, and that we
therefore cann't exclude the possibility that the luminous object at
times may have been behind trees or the like. Strand does not
exclude, in other words, that the portions of the recording where the
light looks like an object, are due to that the light is partially
hidden behind a tree.
For this reason, the footage can't prove
anything, but in my opinion - and probably anyone who studies it, -
it is reasonably unlikely that we are looking at a light (planet?) that
periodically moves behind trees here.
Strand emphasizes that the recording is
extremely interesting.
